ABOUT LAURAJEAN

I fell in love with flowers 15 years ago, working at a small shop just over the river in Boston. Since then, I've worked to develop a floristry that spoke to me, the kind that lives in the space between movement and stillness, detail and texture, organic life and foraged product. From weddings to installations to special events to flowers-just-because, I work hard to make designs that show detail, love, and a kind of floral grace. I work with seasonal flowers, local farms, and nearby vendors to create arrangements that are ethereal, organic, lush, lavish. I try to find beauty in everything (and so I take my garden shears with me wherever I go).

I also have a shop, Observatory Boutique, at 270 Concord Ave on Observatory Hill in North Cambridge, which I share with jewelry designer and stylist Nicole Rueda-Watts. It's at once a floral studio, jewelry shop, and carefully curated antiques market. It's also a great place to stop in and just get inspired, and friends and visitors are always welcome.
